What is brodiekitchens?

Let me introduce myself. My name is Iain Brodie. I'm a self-employed kitchen planner and installer with 10 years experience and I design and build IKEA fitted kitchens in and around the city of Edinburgh.

I'm also somebody who likes to rustle up the odd meal myself, so I know the kind of thing you might be looking for in your kitchen – decent workspace, good lighting, clever storage and a room that's a pleasure to work in and look at.

I try to keep my prices as low as possible: I work by myself with no other employees, and don't charge VAT on the installation. And buying from Ikea, the price you're paying for your kitchen is clear.

So how does it all work?

I will design and install your kitchen. I help you think through exactly what it is that you want in your kitchen, and what will suit your budget, whether it's a cosy galley kitchen or a glamorous creation in gloss. I come up with a design and price, and once you're happy with these, I take away all the stress by project managing the entire project from concept to completion. And that means everything, from checking the delivery from IKEA, through fitting the kitchen and liaising with other specialist contractors like electricians and Gas-Safe registered plumbers. This means you're directly involved with only me, so there's no room for confusion or misunderstanding, and I see that everything is done exactly how you want it.

Why do I only fit IKEA kitchens?

- I believe IKEA represents the best combination of value and quality on the market

- A stylish range of finishes to suit all budgets and tastes

- A greater range of unit heights and depths than other suppliers giving you more design options.

- Units designed to maximise your storage space.

- Lots of wondrous features like clever pull-out corner units, soft-closing drawers and doors as standard, storage solutions for recycling, and a full range of internal fittings

- Extensive online resources and in-store ranges to enable you to choose your kitchen design and style effectively

- All backed up by IKEA's product guarantees.

So, if that all sounds interesting, how do you go about planning everything?
